Joanne is our Chief Executive Officer and the parent of a spunky boy with Down syndrome and a creative teenage girl with ADD & Learning Disability. Joanne believes in the collaboration of individuals, families, and the communities they live in to work together to create a culture of support, inclusion, and personal growth. She does presentations on disabilities awareness in various settings, including symposiums, hospitals, and schools.
Joanne is a certified Waiver Support Coordinator for the Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD), with over 18 years of targeted case management & social services experience working with several non-profits, as well as the Medicaid State Plan and Department of Children and Families. She holds a Bachelors of Science in Psychology with a minor in Communications from Palm Beach Atlantic University.
During her personal time, Joanne loves to do a variety of activities with her husband and two children…from snuggling on the couch while watching a family movie to going on road trips. She enjoys visiting various state & national parks, historical sites, amusement parks, the beach, and discovering new places to eat. Joanne has a few passions, besides advocacy, which include reading, playing board games, and hosting socials at her home.
Kelly is our lead teacher for CampAbility Special Day Camp. She has an extensive history teaching children with special needs in the school system both in NC and FL. She has a passion for children to reach their fullest potential and looks forward to pouring into the lives of our campers each summer. She has her degree in Special Education, is a FL Certified Infant Toddler Disabilities Specialist, is certified in CPR/AED/First Aid, as well as Safe Crisis Management. In her free time, Kelly enjoys going to the beach, making tie-dye clothing, and playing in her drum group.
Daniel is our teacher’s assistant for CampAbility Special Day Camp. He is a new ESE paraprofessional at a local elementary school and has his CPR/First Aid certification. He had been working for the St. Johns County School District in the elementary after-school programs. Daniel is also a college student and photographer. He has high energy, lots of creativity, and is passionate about making sure all children have the opportunities to participate and be active. In his free time, Daniel loves to do photography, join in on campaigns, and spend time with friends.
